With times getting harder, it is no surprise to see people take up at least two jobs to make ends meet. This sort of multi-tasking is also seen in gadgets like the Memoir digital photo frame from Skyla, for instance. Not only does it show off your favorite photos in its 800 x 600 resolution LCD display, you can also scan your favorite old photos (as long as they’re no larger than 4″ x 6″). 1GB of internal memory ought to be adequate to store up to 200 or so photos at 600dpi. Other features include USB connectivity, MP3 playback and image file support. The Skyla Memoir will be out later this December for $219.99.

Okay, so maybe Memorex’s Profile 1.1 MVBD-2510 was only $269 from the get-go, but busting through the unofficial $150 price barrier is a pretty big deal for Blu-ray. Granted, we’re totally expecting a few more to join the fold come Black Friday, but who’s not all about buying from the comfort of one’s home versus braving frigid temperatures only to catch eight airborne diseases and shave 2.85 years from your life due to statistically significant levels of stress on a day off? Bottom line: $139.99 for a BD deck is pretty darn cheap (even for Woot’s standards), and even if there’s no BD-Live support baked in, it’ll still handle the 1080p basics. Order now, debate later.

It’s an energy cell that is a bit larger than a USB stick, that can be used to power your portable devices. For example, it can fully charge a typical blackberry. We recently caught wind of the Zeebo, a new 3G network-based gaming console that’s supposedly launching soon in Brazil. Details were pretty hard to come by initially, but now we’ve gotten some more solid information on the upstart system. It turns out that manufacturer Tectoy is partnering up with cellular carrier Claro, whose 3G network will enable the system to have a constant, free-of-charge connection — and Qualcomm, which holds a 43 percent ownership in the company. As far as specs are concerned, the Zeebo will apparently run on a BREW-based OS and house an ARM CPU running at 528MHz, with a Qualcomm Adreno 130 graphics core (?), 1GB NAND flash memory, 160MB RAM, 128MB DDR SDRAM and 32MB stacked DDR SDRAM. Marketed to the “growing middle class” of developing countries, the Zeebo will launch in Brazil, where its developers say the downloadable-content format should help combat rampant piracy. The cost of the system is expected to be 599BRL (about $264) with games costing between 7-30BRL (around $3-13). Hit the read links for more details.

ASUS’ P565 has been pretty much unofficial until now, though we did see some alleged photos and specs of the device not terribly long ago. The phone has just been officially listed on the ASUS site, however, and we’ve got a quick rundown of its stats (which are pretty much exactly what we’d seen before). The Glide UI-sporting, HSDPA smartphone — which ASUS claims is the “fastest business PDA phone” in the world — runs Windows Mobile 6.1, has an 800MHz Marvell CPU, a 2.8-inch VGA touchscreen, 256MB flash memory and 128MB of DDR SDRAM, 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0, and a microSD slot with SDHC support. Like we said, none of this is a big surprise, but it’s the first official look we’ve had at the handset, though we’re still waiting on word about pricing and availability.

Mobile Choice reviews the LG KC550 and writes, “In terms of photography, shutter lag - the time between pressing the trigger and the camera taking its shot - was minimal. It was perhaps not as good as on a mid-range dedicated compact, but it wasn’t bad, and the time taken for the camera to be ready for the next shot is also reasonable.
